Aurora
Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well received by music blogs. She's recorded a variety of well-known songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and have been widely praised. Katy Perry posted a video where she was announcing her endorsement of Runaway. The endorsement earned her some recognition. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music was discovering a grand piano in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her the possibilities it offered. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music, not as work or for a passion and as a way to grow. Her parents encouraged her to compose. Bjork and Leonard Cohen are among her most favored composers. When her mother told her that the songs she wrote could be used to not gain fame for her however, but to encourage people to see the value of themselves and their impact in this world, she started performing them publicly. She began playing the piano when she was six years old and started creating music when she was nine. Her family didn't know about this until she was 14. Aurora's fame was not her goal. Her sole passion is to compose music. She believes that music is the only method to experience anything.
